With our 2020-2021 season never taking place and with spring here now we feel it’s time to reconnect and update you with potential plans and news. We want to thank you for sticking with us over the last 14 months while we all ride this crazy COVID rollercoaster.
Financially the club wouldn’t have been able to get through this without the incredible support we have received. We want to thank the vast majority of you for donating your fees, or carrying your fees over to next season. Our online 50-50 that we started last fall has been very successful due in part from our membership sharing with others. We have decided to take a bit of a break from the 50-50 but will have back for the month of August.
Most of the arena wall repair was completed last fall. Our contractor Jen Col will be back onsite soon to complete the exterior stucco work and final grading and landscaping. The last part of the project will be to apply a new coat of paint to the interior arena walls.
We are still hopeful we can begin our pickleball programs this summer. We thank those who have showed interest and will connect with you when we are allowed to open. When permitted we will be setting up a patio in the parking lot where we will serve drinks and food from Knosh Catering. Watch for more details on this soon. Our Spring Annual General meeting has been postponed until we can have the meeting with people present in the lounge.
With more and more vaccinations taking place we are hopeful that we will be able to open our operation as normal as possible this fall. We have made the decision to not host any Curling Alberta events, and will be focusing on our leagues and club bonspiels. We will be finalizing our budget for the upcoming season soon along with our curling calendar.
With so much time since your team last curled on our ice we are asking you to connect with your team. Please have conversations with you team about the upcoming season to ensure you have 4 players on the ice in the fall. Maybe once we open the outside patio , or lounge and restrictions allow; get your team together here at the Crestwood to discuss next season.
On behalf of our board of directors and staff we hope you have a great May long weekend.
